International - The International Juvenile Justice Observatory is pleased to announce the organization of The Second International Conference entitled 'Juvenile Justice In Europe: A Framework for the Integration' in Brussels (Belgium) on 24th and 25th October 2006.

The subject matter of this conference is based on the challenge of promoting a reflection about a major harmonization of legislation and common ways of action in prevention, treatment and integration policies, regarding juveniles and young people in conflict with the law.

European Union - The International Juvenile Justice Observatory would like to invite you to consult the final Opinion document on 'The prevention of juvenile delinquency. Ways of dealing with juvenile delinquency and the role of the juvenile justice system in the European Union', submitted to The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

During the last meeting of The Section for Employment, Social Affairs and Citizenship of The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), on wednesday 22th February, Mr. José Maria Zufiaur Narvaiza, EESC Adviser has submitted The European Opinion.

The final voting took place during the EESC plenary session on the 15th March 2006 and The European Opinion was approved with 98 votes in its favour.

International - The International Juvenile Justice Observatory is pleased to communicate, the publication of the Conclusions of the International Meeting of the National Coalitions for Children's Rights.

On 18th and 19th November 2005 in Lima (Peru), the International Juvenile Justice Observatory has participated in the International Meeting entitled: 'Actual Situation on Monitoring and Impact of Children's Rigths National Coalitions'.

This meeting allowed to confront the reality of each National Coalition and to elaborate reflections on strategical level, in order to achieve a major improvement of situation of minors.

European Union - The International Juvenile Justice Observatory has participated in the European Forum entitled: ‘Child Inclusion as a Challenge to the Mediterranean Partnership of the EU. The consequences of migration on children at risk in the Southern European Member States: Analyses, Concepts’ organized by European Foundation for Street Children Worldwide, which took place in the Representation of the European Commission in Italy.
