International Seminar: "Ethics and childcare: a collective engagement" which will be held on the 20^th and 21^th of November 2007 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (France).

International Congress "Phenomena in Juvenile Delinquency: new penal forms", which will be held on the 6^th and 7^th of November at Seville (Spain).

International Conference on 'The migration of unaccompanied minors in Europe: the contexts of origin, the migration routes and the reception systems.' which will take place on the 10^th and 11^th of October 2007 at Poitiers (France).

European Union - Mrs. Katerina Batzeli, Greek deputy of the European Parliament, presents to the IJJO users and collaborators, her proposal opinion document on "Report on juvenile delinquency, the role of women, the family and society", to the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality.

This report stresses the need for an integrated strategy at national and European level based on prevention, social inclusion as well as measures of judicial and extrajudicial intervention.

Europe, Region - Francis Bailleau has published, in collaboration with Yves Cartuyvels, the book 'La justice pénale des mineurs en Europe: Entre modèle Welfare et inflexions néo-libérales'.

This book studies the fact that in most of the European countries, the traditional social preventive policies of the management of juvenile justice (Welfare) are being questioned. Nevertheless, the neo-liberal ideology gains force proposing a new paradigm marked by the resurrection of the punitivity, the accumulation of control and intervention devices.

International - The International Juvenile Justice Observatory (IJJO) informs you about the creation of a new section in the area 'Documentation Centre' called 'Research and Thesis'.

Due to the fact that most of the research done by PhD Students does not have the opportunity to be published on a large scale, we want to offer Researchers and PhD students the possibility to access our international communication platform and publish their work on the IJJO Website, on recommendation of their professor-tutor.
