International - "Recognition of the Rights of Adolescents in Conflict with Criminal Law: a Critical Perspective Derived from Practice" is the roundtable organized by the International Juvenile Justice Observatory (IJJO), during the III World Congress on Children and Adolescents' Rights, which took place last November 2007 in Barcelona (Spain).

The International Juvenile Justice Observatory (IJJO), wishes to share with its users and collaborators, the communications submitted to this roundtable, by juvenile justice professionals and experts.

International - As a result of the meeting of more than 350 participants, coming from all continents, which took place in Seville on the 6th and 7th November 2007, the International Juvenile Justice Observatory is pleased to invite you to read the communications presented during the International Congress 'Phenomena in Juvenile Delinquency: new penal forms' as well as the conclusions that were read during the closing ceremony.

We would like to thank the participants and speakers for their active participation and collaboration and for passing on a message of hope by working hard each day in the field of juvenile justice, so all those minors in conflict with the law so they can become free citizens with full rights.

In this interview, the concept and context of the juvenile gang phenomenon in the UK and Europe is analysed. The IJJO carries out a synthesis on the origins, the current mass media situation and focuses on the importance of the prevention of juvenile delinquency through the protection of the youngster’s family, promoting the minor’s future reintegration into society.
