International - On the 21st and 22nd October 2008, the International Juvenile Justice Observatory (IJJO) together with the County Council of Justice and Public Administrations of the Generalitat Valenciana (Spain), have the pleasure to organise the III International IJJO Conference, which will be titled: "Juvenile Justice Systems in Europe: current situation, trends in applicable models and good practices".
This International Conference, framed in the AGIS European Project, will be developed according to the two following axes:
* Subjet 1: Comparative analysis of juvenile justice systems in Europe: current situation and trends in applicable models.
* Subjet 2: Good practices and recommendations applicable on juvenile justice systems.

International - The International Juvenile Justice Observatory (IJJO) is pleased to invite you to read the presentations done during the Latin America Regional Innovation Fair "Youth: the core of sustainable development" on June 18th and 19th in San José (Costa Rica). This conference was organised by Fundación Diagrama and the UN-DESA-NGO Section of the United Nations ECOSOC, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Youth of Costa Rica and the participation of ILANUD and the International Juvenile Justice Observatory.

National, United States - In June 2008, the United States Senate reauthorized and improved the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974 through the Senate Bill 3155.
The prevention and protection of the minor, family and community together with the reduction of racial discrimination in the field of juvenile justice are some of the principles and basis of this new legislative framework which were reconsidered by the United States National Senate.

National, Afghanistan - The report 'Justice for children. The situation for children in conflict with the law in Afghanistan' was presented by the organisation ‘Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC)' in cooperation with UNICEF.
This document presents the results of the research that was done on minors in conflict with the law in 22 provinces of the country.This report reflects the need to put international and national legislation into practice in order to promote and protect the minor’s rights in Afghanistan.
