Recent Studies in Europe agree on the high prevalence of mental disorders of young offenders. In the daily clinical practice there are great social, psychological and psychiatric differences which give a big heterogeneity to the group of young people who commit illegal acts. Therefore it is of fundamental importance that the minor receives an individual evaluation and intervention. In order to offer the best reintegration alternatives and possibilities and to allow the development of mental health treatment systems in youth justice, it is essential to carry out an individual evaluation through a psychopathological screening of minors in conflict with the law.
What kinds of specific mental health units or resources do there exist in your country for minor offenders with mental disorders?
