Most young people locked up across Australia last year had not even been sentenced.

The Australian Insitute of Health and Welfare Youth Justice In Australia 2017-18 report out on Friday reveals that 60 per cent youngsters aged 10-17 who were in detention on an average day last year were waiting to be sentenced or for the outcome of their legal matter to be resolved.
