YAP values its relationships with youth, families and referring entities and therefore takes its work very seriously. YAP is committed to providing ethical and high quality services, and continually seeks opportunities to improve. As such, they structure themselves with systems and practices that set forth guidelines that can be monitored, corrected and/or revised as needed.

Their mission is to provide individuals who are, have been or may be subject to compulsory care with the opportunity to develop, contribute and be valued as assets so that communities have safe, proven effective and economical alternatives to institutional placement.

Information d'intérêt

YAP is a nationally recognized, non-profit organization exclusively committed to the provision of community-based alternatives to out-of-home care through direct service, advocacy and policy change.

Since its founding in 1975, its expertise and passion have been in serving deep-end, multi-need and cross-system youth and families, though they have success across a continuum of needs and challenges. The organization provides safe, cost-effective services to youth and families involved in numerous systems, including the Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice, Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, Education and Adult Systems.

They serve over 13,000 families a year in more than 100 programs across 18 states in rural, suburban and urban areas including 25 major metro areas. Since the beginning in 1975, 100% of their programming occurs in the home communities of the people they serve.
