Police child sex abuse unit forced to pay £170,000 to buy information from internet firms

The police unit set up to battle child sex abuse is having to pay internet firms tens of thousands of pounds for information, it has emerged. The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) has spent more than £170,000 on gathering data since it was founded in 2006, it is reported.
