This conference is a first joint effort undertaken by several professional societies of criminology. The primary goal of this conference is to examine evaluative research efforts of programs and initiatives that have demonstrated a positive impact upon the nature and extent of crime. By bringing together the professional societies of criminology worldwide, this conference will strengthen the level of cross-national research cooperation and advance the knowledge base regarding "What Works in Reducing Crime" in a global context.
