Liz Ryan. Campaign for Youth Justice
IJJO. V International Conference on juvenile justice. London 2012.

Abstract

Estimates range on the number of youth prosecuted in adult court nationally. Some researchers believe that as many as 250,000 youth are prosecuted every year.3 Despite the fact that many of the state laws were intended to prosecute the most serious offenders, most youth who are tried in adult courts are there no matter how minor their offense.
