Youth justice. Annual Statistics 2003/2004


Youth Justice Board for England and Wales

Abstract

In 2003/04, the total core budget provided by the statutory agencies for Yots was £170.2 million. The Youth Justice Board contributed £47.5 million in additional funding. The funding the Board provides in the form of grants and for programmes such as the Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme (ISSP) is not included in these figures, nor is funding that Yots receive from other sources such as Single Regeneration Budget (SRB), European funding, Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, Children’s Fund and Quality Protects. In this period, the Board gave Yots £24.3 million for ISSP. In addition, the Board provided £10 million for prevention programmes and £6.5 million for grants, a proportion of which was paid to Yots.
