Youth Justice Action Month, Virtual Hill Days

-
YJAM Virtual Hill Days

CJJ and its Government Relations Committee, in partnership with the National Juvenile Justice Network and our other national partners, will host a series of Virtual Hill Days on October 18-22. Join us in this one-of-a-kind opportunity to let Congress know how important it is to support our most vulnerable youth during this critical time.

This event is part of Youth Justice Action Month (YJAM), which is celebrated each October to encourage local, state, and federal action to improve our youth legal system.

Congress needs to hear from the juvenile justice community to encourage them to:

Support implementation of the Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018;
Eliminate use of the Valid Court Order Exception which enables young people to be detained for low-level behaviors such as running away from home and skipping school; and
Enact a robust federal agenda related to youth justice.
