Alors qu’il était programmé à 7,7 milliards d’euros dans l’article 1er de la loi du 23 mars dite de programmation de la justice, le budget du ministère de la Justice sera doté de 7,585 milliards d’euros, a annoncé vendredi 27 septembre la Chancellerie, soit une augmentation de 4 % par rapport au budget 2019.

En Guayaquil hay aproximadamente 160 chicos aislados por diferentes hechos ilícitos.

Ellos estudian, realizan actividades deportivas y espirituales. Los menores aislados por cometer actos ilícitos aprenden oficios que los ayudarán a reinsertarse en la sociedad. En Ecuador hay 11 Centros de Adolescentes Infractores (CAI) y 674 chicos con medidas socioeducativas privativas de libertad.

Los jueces apuestan cada vez más por la libertad vigilada para reinsertar a los menores que han delinquido según se desprende de las estadísticas facilitadas por la Consejería de Familia e Igualdad de Oportunidades, que reflejan que la mitad de las penas se saldan por esta vía. Así, al 47,5% de los adolescentes infractores de entre los 14 y 18 años se les ha impuesto en 2018 esta medida como fórmula de control tras cometer delitos de los que se ha desprendido una responsabilidad penal.

sujatha baliga, who helped build one of the nation’s most successful restorative juvenile justice programs in Oakland, Calif., is among this year’s MacArthur Fellows, an honor bestowed by the Chicago-based John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

baliga (she does not capitalize her name), who is the director of the Restorative Justice Project at Oakland-based Impact Justice, will receive a no-strings, $625,000 “genius grant” from the foundation.

State juvenile correctional agencies do a poor job of preparing youth in the juvenile justice system for employment, the Council of State Governments Justice Center says in a new report.

States miss opportunities to help youth get critical career skills to overcome hurdles they face seeking jobs, the center says.

Based on a survey of all states, the report says that 42 do not offer the full array of available services.

A ground-breaking study which looks at how Māori and Samoan peoples describe their experience of youth justice across three different but comparable countries is calling for participants.

Led by Dr Tamasailau Suaalii-Sauni and Dr Robert Webb of the University of Auckland and Dr Juan Tauri from the University of Waikato, the research will be used to inform policy and service delivery in youth justice-related areas across – and within – the three countries: Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

Spit hoods will be banned in South Australia's youth detention facility with the state government saying they have no place in a modern justice system.

The hoods, designed to prevent young people in custody from spitting or biting others, have been used in SA since 2014, including 57 times between October 2016 and June this year.
