UNICEF Spain has recently published two reports that analyse the circumstances under which children access the judicial process and offer perspectives of children who have experienced it. Both documents, developed in collaboration with professionals from the protection and juvenile justice systems, seek to advance a type of justice that is more accessible, comprehensible and respectful of the rights of the child.

The first report offers a detailed analysis examining both the main legislative advancements and methods introduced in the last few years to ensure a judicial process more sensitive to the needs of children and the aspects requiring further improvement.

The second report compiles the voices of children under 18 who have interacted with the judicial system in different ways. Their testimonies help us understand how they perceive the treatment offered and the boundaries they encounter when navigating the justice system.

With these reports, UNICEF aims to achieve a justice system that is more attuned to the rights of the child, where proper treatment and active participation of children and adolescents are the fundamental principles for action.
