Webinar: Advancing Child-Centred Justice

Webinar: Advancing Child-Centred Justice

Date and Time: Thursday, March 13, 2025 13:00 CET

Description:

Justice systems sometimes fail to recognize children as rights holders, treating them as passive subjects rather than individuals entitled to protection, participation, and tailored support. Child-centred justice challenges this approach, calling for legal systems that are designed with and for children—ensuring their rights, voices, and best interests are at the core of every decision. As part of the lead-up to the 5th World Congress on Justice With Children (2-4 June 2025), this webinar will explore how justice systems can adapt to children's needs, prevent harm, and effectively respond to violence affecting them.

Key discussions will include:

✔️ How justice institutions can embed child-centred approaches in policies and practice.

✔️ The role of justice systems in preventing and responding to violence against children.

✔️ The importance of ensuring justice systems uphold all children's rights, as key to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 16. Join us for this crucial conversation on rethinking justice through a child-centred lens, ensuring that legal systems not only serve children but actively protect, empower, and restore them.
